1.Learn about Germany’s rich culture at the Deutsches Museum.
Your kid’s exploration of Munich is incomplete without them visiting one of the world’s largest and oldest museums in the world. The museum features a plethora of interactive exhibits and activities (talk about 1,000 exciting activities) for your curious little buddies.
2.Meet and greet the animals at Hellabrunn Zoo.
This world-popular zoo is known for having a diverse range of species and animal facilities. Founded in 1911, a trip to the first Geo-zoo in the world is going to be a fun-filled learning opportunity for your kids. Not only will they learn about the different animals that inhabit Germany, they also learn about conserving and protecting the environment.
3.Be amazed of the magical world of toys in Toy Museum.
Opened in 1983, the Toy Museum houses the most beautiful and unique dolls in the world, from the smallest (miniatures) to the biggest ones. Surely, they will be mesmerised by adorable teddies, vintage dolls and barbies, toy trains, and so much more.
4.Enter the world of movie and animation at Bavaria Film Studios.
For your little movie buffs, a trip to the largest film making centre in Europe – Bavaria Film Studios – is going to be an epic experience for your whole family. Let your kids ride on the Falkor the dragon of the film “Never Ending Story” or the submarine of Das Boot.
5.Appreciate European architecture in Marienplatz.
This picture-perfect structure features a beautiful chiming clock that has been there for more than a hundred years. Come here at 11 am or 12 noon to hear the clock ring, watch 32 life-sized figures reenact Bavarian history, and watch out for the golden bird chirping three times at the end of the show.
6.Enjoy the outdoors at English Garden.
Even bigger than the Central Park in New York, the English Garden offers lots of recreational activities for the young and old. Let them run, play their favorite sport, or simply walk around the park and enjoy the beautiful landscaped gardens.
7.Get super sporty at the Olympic Park.
Built for the 1972 Summer Olympics, the park offers an array of sports opportunities for your active family, including ice skating, tennis, soccer, water sports, Nordic walking, biking, ice hockey, and boating. They also hold concerts and shows on a regular basis at the Olympic Park.
8.Explore the underworld at Sea Life Munich.
Let your kids get up close to wonderful water creatures like sharks and exotic sea animals through the interactive touching pool. They can also watch as the sharks, sting rays and sturgeons are fed.
9.Fill their hungry tummy at Munich’s kid-friendly restaurants.
Traveling without food isn’t traveling at all. After a series of fun activities around Munich, treat them to a filling Bavarian cuisine trip. Have a taste of Knödel and noodles (traditional Bavarian dish), pork chops with red-cabbage dumplings, and of course – pretzels! Yum!
10.Shop at the Toy Store.
Alright – for the finale… Take them to a shopping spree at Munich’s largest toy store. Here, you will find everything, from stuffed animals to fashion dolls, board games, educational toys, musical instruments, and so much more. Surely, both the boys and the girls will find great picks!
Munich is no doubt a perfect destination for your whole family. The rich history and culture that reflects on its majestic architecture, family-friendly destinations, food, and the friendly locals, is a treasure worth exploring.
