Las Vegas: Gamble On Family Fun

Destinations Las Vegas USA & Canada

As you pass the aqua waters of the Colorado River and spy Hoover Dam, you know this trip is going to be fun. This strip of entertainment in the middle of the desert, known as Las Vegas, is packed with family activities. You will love Vegas in June, July, and August.

For oodles of comic strip and cartoon fun, games, celebrities, endless food, and crafts attend the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con at the South point on June 20-22. With costumed superheroes and characters and hours of entertainment, this event is guaranteed to please every member of the family.

You cannot go to Las Vegas without a Cirque de Soleil show. Check the Cirque de Soleil website, https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/destinations/las-vegas/home.aspx, to see which shows are appropriate for children. I highly recommend you see the summer running show of Zarkana at the Aria. The theme is an old-fashioned circus and the characters speak and sing in Cirquespeak, a made-up language. The adults and children will love it!

David Copperfield at the MGM is magical. There are no risky showgirls or inappropriate language, just the mystery of the slight of David’s hand. He will run his show through the summer (June: 1 – 17 & 25 – 30), so you cannot miss him, unless he makes himself disappear! For the kids, I recommend the Saturday 4:00 matinee. After the show, you will find a bevy of restaurants in the MGM building for dinner.

Walking the strip may be too crowded or rowdy for the kids, I recommend you use the Las Vegas monorail, http://www.vegas.com/transportation/las-vegas-monorails/ system. As a warning, on the weekends, the strip may be too crowded for kids. And the atmosphere can be a bit festive. The days will be sultry, but pack sweaters for the occasional cool night. Sign on line and get a Mlife card(www,mlife.com), you can make your reservations early and get discounts for many of the attractions. You will love Vegas with the family.
